12 Step Programming. 

1-Key Removed from Ignition, drivers door open, all other doors closed.

3-Insert key into ignition then remove it - do this twice.

4-Close and open the drivers door twice.

5-Insert key into the ignition then remove.

6-Close and open the drivers door twice.

7-Insert the key into the ignition, then close the door.

8-Turn the key from off to on - once to add a remote while retaining the original codes, or twice to rewrite the original remote codes.

9-Remove key from ignition (locks should cycle).

10-Press the Lock and Unlock buttons on the remote at the same time for 1 second.

11-Press and hold any button on the remote for 2 seconds (locks should cycle once for correct programming, or twice if procedure is incomplete).

12-To close programming, open the door of the vehicle.


To add the new remote, with help from an older working remote.

1. Open the glovebox and find the small 'slot' in the top corner.

2. You will need to slide your older working remote inside the slot until you see the red security light on the dash light up.

3. Once the light is up, quickly swap over with the new remote and hold it for a few seconds. This should now be coded.
